Match 30: Islamabad United Failed, Karachi Kings Qualified For Playoff

Due to the excellent performance of the bowlers in the last round match of Pakistan Super League, Karachi Kings defeated Islamabad United by 7 wickets and qualified for the playoff.

In the Sharjah game, Karachi Kings won the toss and decided to bowl in the first inning, and on 17 runs, both the United openers Alex Hales and JP Duminy had returned to the pavilion.

Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Chadwick Walton completed the half-century, but Shahid Afridi took Pakistan’s most successful captain’s wicket but also eliminated Chadwick Walton’s innings in the next over.

After being run out for 63 runs, Asif Ali and Shadab Khan started scoring the score, especially Asif Ali’s aggressive style, and helped with four sixes, scored 34 runs in 14 balls, but Tymal Mills got his wickets and increased the problems of the Islamabad United.

After this, Karachi Kings did not get much flexibility in wrapping the Islamabad base, and the entire team made 124 runs in 19 overs and returned to the pavilion.

From Karachi Kings, Umar Shinwari got four, while Irfan Junior and Shahid Afridi scored two wickets.

In the pursuit of an easy target, Karachi Kings openers made the team a victory for 33 runs, Khurram Manzoor returned to the pavilion after making 15 runs.

But despite that, Joe Denly and Babar Azam continued ahead and reached score 69 and broke the hope of victory of Islamabad United in the match.

Islamabad United got two successes in the form of Denly and Eoin Morgan, but despite this, Karachi Kings did not face any difficulty in chasing a target and they achieved the target in 17 overs with seven wickets in the match as well as qualified for the playoff by getting the second position on points table.

From Karachi Kings, Joe Denly 36, Colin Ingram 31 and Babar Azam made 29 runs and declared as the most successful batsmen.

Usman Shinwari was declared the best player for taking four wickets.
