Match 25: Islamabad United Entered Into Playoff After Defeating Multan Sultans

In the 25th match of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League, thanks to the excellent performance of the batsmen and bowlers, Islamabad United defeated the Multan Sultans by 33 runs and placed their position in Playoff.

In the Sharjah game, Multan Sultans’ captain Shoaib Malik invited Islamabad United to bat then openers JP Duminy and Luke Ronchi scored 46 runs in the beginning, in which Duminy made 6 runs and returned to the pavilion.

Alex Hales came with Ronchi who played first match in the event and both of the players reached the score to 91, Ronchi got out after making 56 runs with 36 balls with the help of three sixes and six fours.

Hales also showed good form and was looking to play a big inning, but Umar Gul ended his inning on 46 individual single runs.

Hussain Talat also played a good inning of 36 runs, with which Islamabad United made the score of 185 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of four wickets in the over.

Umar Gul was the most successful bowler to take two wickets by Multan Sultans.

In pursuit of the target, Multan Sultans was started in a devastating manner and in the first over of the inning, Samit Patel has out both Sangakkara and Saif Badar.

The score was just 20 that Ahmad Shahzad and Sohaib Maqsood returned to the pavilion by given their wickets to Fahim Ashraf and Imad Butt.

Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard scored a half-century to the team, but Shadab Khan got the Sultans’ captain wicket and let his team get fifth success.

Multan Sultans’ full team got out on 152 runs and Islamabad United won the match with 33 runs, while Quetta Gladiators already reached the Play-Off.

Luke Ronchi was declared the best player of the match on aggressive batting.
