Match 20: Shaheen Afridi’s Destructive Bowling, Multan Sultans Scored 114 Runs

Despite the impressive innings of Kumar Sangakkara in the third edition of Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultans’ team scored 114 runs against Lahore Qalandars. In the match played in Dubai, Multan Sultans won the toss and decided to bat first which proved to be in the beginning.

Openers Kumar Sangakkara and Ahmed Shehzad made 61 runs in their eight overs, Sangakkara returned to Pavilion after playing 30 runs in an innings of 45 balls with the help of one six and eight fours.

Shahzad was accompanied by Sohaib Maqsood and both the players reached the score of 92, but Shahzad’s courage was answered after making 32 runs on the same score.

Multan Sultans made 93 runs at the loss of two wickets in 13 overs on one occasion and felt that he would succeed in achieving a combination of 150 runs, but the magnificent spell of Narine and Shaheen Afridi spread water on the hopes of Sultans.

Narine out Sohaib Maqsood who made 16 runs and made a major success to the team, after which Shaheen Afridi made the disaster over the next over, and Shoaib Malik, Ross Whiteley, and Saif Badar were out in the same over. 

When the score reached on 108, Sohail Tanveer run-out scored while Sohail Khan scored a full stop in front of Kieron Pollard’s innings, and poured out all the hopes of the Sultans’ big score.

Shaheen Afridi continued to score two wickets in the last over and took Lahore Qalandars to 114 runs. The young fast bowler scored five wickets for just four runs.
