Kamran Akmal’s Century – Peshawar Zalmi Reached To Playoff

In the main match of the third edition of Pakistan Super League, due to the Kamran Akmal’s century, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets and qualified for the playoff.

In the match being played in Sharjah, Lahore Qalandars’ captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and decided to bat first.

The Peshawar Zalmi team got an important breakthrough in the beginning when Fakhar Zaman, who played 94 runs in the last match, returned to the pavilion after only six runs, and Sameen Gul also ended the inning of Qalandars captain McCullum’s innings on seven runs.

After getting two wickets for 40 runs, Young Aga Salman came with Anton Devcich, and both of them tried to get the initial loss by setting up a 55-run partnership for the second wicket.

Devcich took aggressive style and completed his half-century while Aagha Salman also made 28 runs with two sixes, but Wahab Riaz gave Zalmi an important victory by sending young batsman to the pavilion.

Devcich continued his aggressive batting and scored 17 runs with two sxies for Liam Dawson’s innings, and made a way to get big score to Qalandars. But Hassan Ali ended his inning.

New Zealand batsman made 70 runs with 7 sixes and two fours on 42 balls.

After falling four wickets for 119 runs, Gulraiz Sadaf and Sohail Akhtar joined the wicket, and both performed aggressive batsmen in the last over and reached their team to a big score.

Lahore Qalandars scored 172 runs at the loss of four wickets in the given overs, Sohail Akhtar scored 30 and Gulraiz played inning of 26 runs.

In pursuit of the target, Kamran Akmal continued batting against the bowlers of Lahore Qalandars and after being dismissed by Riki Wessels, he scored 71 runs with Dywane Smith, who scored 14 runs and went to the pavilion on Yasir Shah’s ball.

After this, Mohammad Hafeez came to join Kamran Akmal and both of the players ensured his team’s victory by making a decent contribution of 87 runs, Hafeez went out after 28 runs.

Kamran Akmal continued to bat and made his century on 59 balls. He is the first batsman who made two centuries in the PSL. He also made century in last season.

Due to the wicketkeeper-batsman, Peshawar Zalmi achieved victory before 12 balls with seven wickets, as well as qualified for play-off.

Wicketkeeper-batsman played an unbeaten century of 107 runs on 61 balls with seven sixes and 11 fours and declared as a Man Of The Match of the event.
